See My Chandelier?

chandelier
Isn't it cute? I thought it was adorable, so I picked it up from IKEA last weekend. When I came home from work today, my sweet husband had cleaned the whole house and hung the chandelier. The problem is, he hung it in the wrong room. I'm guessing he thought that it was about the same size as the existing light fixture in the kitchen and that must be where it goes. But, it doesn't match. Most of the decorations in our kitchen have gold accents, so polished silver doesn't really match. I wanted it in the dining room, but Gavin thinks it is too small for the dining room. It would match everything in the dining room, like these polished silver picture frames:

My problem is, I hate to break his heart. I know he is so proud of himself for taking the initiative to do a little handy work. But, it's driving me crazy! I like for everything to match, and this isn't a match at all. So, what do I do? Do I tell him he hung it in the wrong room? Do I try to move it myself (yikes!)? I could use a little advice here. I don't know how long I can take this!

  1. I would just tell him that you had thought it would be better in the dining room because it'll match that room and it doesn't match the kitchen. Try hanging it to see if it'll fit and go from there. I wouldn't try to do it yourself, not because I don't think you can do it, but because it might hurt his feelings more. If he doesn't want to move it...then game on - do it yourself!

  2. First, I love the chandelier! It's really cute. Hmm, not even sure what to do about moving it. But I'm like you, it would drive me crazy to be in the wrong place. That's what we get for being OCD!! :) Okay, so yes, the font upload is crazy. I told you I got about 3/4 through and then had to call one of my students to help me finish it. He's an IT wiz. Now, as for the pictures, it will take messing with the HTML code. Which is pretty tricky, too. But there is a tutorial here: http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com/2008/01/enlarging-your-photos-tutorial-by-karyn.html
It took lots of practice, but I think I have it figured out. I'll have to keep tinkering as I post new pictures. My outter bar wasn't big enough for my liking, so I starting messing with the width of the template. Whoa, I got in over my head, but finally, finally (think) I figured it out. Best of luck!
