I Heart Weekends

Hello, all! How was your weekend? We had another busy one. Friday night we went over to Beth and Brett's for game night. A few of the regulars couldn't make it, but we still had a good time. First, we ate and played with the kiddies a bit. Then, it was time to get down to business and play some Pictionary. When we first began the game, the girls were stomping the boys so badly that we had to start over. We decided to play the more challenging verion the second time around. As you can tell, the boys were not playing around this time!
But, neither were the girls!
At the end of the game, we all admitted that we cheated. We all laughed about it, and thought it best to play Taboo instead. But, we all ended up cheating with that game too. I guess we're just a bunch of cheaters.

Saturday, Ashleigh and Lexie were in a pageant. Well technically, only Lexie was in the pageant. Ashleigh won the pageant last year, so she had to crown this year's winner.
She informed me that she liked that more than competing in the pageant. She also informed me that there would be no more pageants in her future. She is a lot like me, in that she is more into sports than prissy stuff.
Lexie didn't win for her division, so she informed me that she would continue to compete until she won.

We were supposed to help with the Extreme Home Makeover house on Sunday, but Gavin woke up Sunday morning around 4 a.m. with sharp pains and blood in his urine (I'm sure you are all happy to hear this). Gavin is not much of a complainer- in fact he has not been to the doctor since we married and in the 11 years that we've been together, I have only seen him sick a handful of times. Needless to say, we didn't get much rest due to the "Do we go to the hospital, do we not go to the hospital?" question that loomed. So, we spent most of the day in bed resting and trying to get him better. He seemed to feel better last night, but the pain struck again this morning when he was in the shower. I rushed home from work to get him to the doctor. I mean, when the boy says he's hurtin', he's hurtin! The doctor said what we already knew, he has kidney stones. The problem is, he doesn't know how many or how big they are. Gavin has to go in for a CT scan in the morning so they can decided a plan of action. Right now, he is just supposed to take pain medication and wait. Hopefully he will be able to pass them, because if surgery is involved we might both fall apart!
