It's Been Awhile

Seriously.  October?  What is up with that?  I guess that's what being busy will get 'ya.  One day it's October, the next it's February.  So, you may ask "what's been going on?"  Well, pretty much the same old stuff.  Work, weekend, work, weekend.  But in the midst of all that working and weekending, we have started building our new house.  I guess that's kinda a big deal, huh?  Here's a few panoramic pictures of it so far:
.
 .
This is the downstairs area looking around from the dining room.  To the left is a doorway to a guest bedrrom and bathroom.  Then, there are the stairs leading upstairs.  Next, you can see the doorway that leads into the master suite.  Straight ahead is the living room with a fireplace and entrance to the back porch.  On the far right is the breakfast area with two big windows.

This is the downstairs area from the breakfast area.  On the left you have the kitchen.  Looking past that is the mudroom/laundry room and then the garage.  Straight ahead you can see the front doorway and the stairs again.  Then, you see the entrance to the master suite again.  On the far right you can see the back porch (creeper included with house).

This is another view from downstairs looking upstairs.  It was taken from the same spot as the first picture (the dining room), but looking upward.  On the far left is another guest room and bathroom.  Then, if an office space.  Straight ahead is a catwalk that gos across the living room to the other side of the house.  On the far right of the house is Gavin's "man room" (or a large guest room).  I love how open the living room is with the vaulted ceilings looking up to the second story.

These pictures were taken a few weeks ago after we did our house blessing.  I will post pictures from the house blessing later (hopefully sooner than later).  The house is now officially "dried in" and wired for electricity and heating/air.
.
We are very excited about this new venture in our lives!  However, it can be stressful at times.  Mainly because I want Gavin's opinion, and his response usually is in some form of not caring.  Yet, when I pick something out, he questions my choice.  Talk about frustrating.  But I am super thankful to have the opportunity to do this!

  1. I'm glad you're no longer MIA on the blog scene. :) The house looks great. So exciting to have a new home to look forward to! Keep the pictures coming as things progress.
