Swamped

The title of my post pretty much sums it up. I am definately in over my head right now. I have taken on so much lately that I'm beginning to feel a little overwhelmed.
Let me fill you in:
Along with teaching these "little angels" every day, I have also been tutoring some of my students after school. I began to grow concerned about some of my students progress. With state tests quickly approaching, I decided I needed to step in and work with some of my students. I decided to offer my well-behaved, struggling students free tutoring. I only made this offer to the well-behaved students because, well, I don't have time to deal with mishaving children. Plus, I feel like they are putting in the effort, but something just isn't clicking. So, since they are making the effort, I figure I can too.
Then, there's more school stuff- Yearbook! I am the yearbook coordinator at our school. This basically means that I create the entire yearbook. Yeah... That's overwhelming in its self. Not only that, but I decided to do something different this year- A video yearbook. I'm pretty sure that this makes it even more difficult on myself because there's no yearbook company to put it all together. Plus, I'm the only one at the school who knows how to use the software. Sigh...
On to the next. Gavin and I are playing softball this spring. Yes, you heard me correctly. Our school has organized a softball team to play in the city's coed league. We don't start playing games until the end of March, but we are practicing 2-3 times a week to prepare. Not only am I playing on the team, but I am also designing the uniforms for our team.
Oh, and did I mention I am thinking about coaching cheerleading again? Yeah, that too. Luckily, the season doesn't hit full swing until October. But, there will still be lots of practicing before the season begins. In the mean time, I am organizing a group of girls to do some cheers for "Read Across America" at our school. That should be interesting.
Along with all of these school related activities, my mom and I are starting a business. It is an online children's boutique. I am really excited about this because my mom is an excellent seamstress and has just bought a new monogramming machine. Right now, we are researching website development and designs to get it running. I have also been working on some stuff to sell as well.
Anything else? Oh, of course! I've started writing a book. I loved to write when I was younger, but when I started college I tossed writing to the back burner. I have picked it up again and have found it to be a great outlet. I'd love to fill you in on what I am writing about, but I really want it to be a surprise! It should turn out very interesting to say the least. Maybe you can guess what it's about?
By the way, Gavin and I will also be volunteering this weekend. We will be working with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Columbus. I'm pretty excited about this. I watch the show on Sundays and almost always cry. It's such a great project and I can't wait to be a part of it!
Anyway, with all of this going on, as well as everyday stuff, I am feeling in over my head. I know that I have brought this all on myself, but sometimes I just sit back and ask myself "What am I thinking?" I'm sure with spring approaching (hopefully), things will only get more chaotic. But, I'm sure the warm weather will make things more pleasant... Right?

  1. Okay, you're making me tired just reading all of that! I had to scale back on several things after Libby was born because working full time and taking care of her was a full load. I did go back to playing church leauge softball and enjoy having grown up time. :)

By the way, I love the t-shirts! Let me know when you are open for business. I've been tempted to order from etsy in the past, but honestly, some are overpriced and I don't know what kind of quality they are. I'd love to have a local vendor so I wouldn't have to pay shipping, as well.

See you soon and don't forget to sleep!

  2. I can't even imagine working and being a mother along with other stuff! It'll be a while before we decide to throw a child into the mix! I will let you know when we get the business up and running. My mom is making some adorable tooth fairy pillows and Libby will definately need one!
