Georgia National Fair

Friday afternoon Beth, Brett, Deacon, Gavin, and I hopped in the car and headed to Perry, GA for the Georgia National Fair.  We were all excited about the games, rides, and most importantly the greasy fair food.  Because of the crowds last year, we decided to go on the 2nd weekend of the fair instead of the 1st.  What a difference that made!  It wasn't nearly as crowded and made for a good little night out.  As soon as we got there we decided to head to the petting zoo, but on the way there Deacon spotted his favorite toys.  We had to stop!

Then it was off to the petting zoo.

Next up- fair food.  Giant corn dogs and funnel cakes for everyone!  Deacon enjoyed checking out the rides while we ate.

After that we headed to the rides.  Deacon and Brett rode the ferris wheel.  That's one ride I will never ride!

Beth and Deacon hopped on a roller coaster and as they were taking off Brett and I noticed the sign:

See that second picture?  That would mean no pregnant people should ride the ride.  See that girl on the ride?  That'd be a pregnant person.  The ride wasn't rough at all, but we spent the rest of the night checking the fair out while Beth googled pregnancy + roller coasters.

By 10:00 we were loaded back in the car and headed home.  Deacon and Gavin had collected tons of fair toys to enjoy for the next few weeks!  It was a good night.

  1. We talked about going this year, but were out of town and didn't make it happen. I'm adding this to our "things to do next year" list. I've heard it's a great fair and your pictures make we wish we'd gone!
